Codala operates the Codala mobile application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Under the Turkish Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), this document also serves as a "Clarification Text" (Aydınlatma Metni).

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Usage Data
When you access the Service with a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including the type of mobile device, unique device ID, IP address, operating system, and diagnostic data.

Permissions
To provide the core features of Codala, we require access to:

• Camera: to scan barcodes/QR codes and to capture photos for chat rooms.
• Photo Gallery: to allow you to upload images to your profile or chat rooms.
• Notifications: to send alerts about new messages and service updates.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (KVKK Compliance)

In accordance with Article 5 of the KVKK, we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

• Performance of a Contract: To provide the service and link barcodes to chat rooms as requested by the user.
• Legitimate Interests: To monitor usage and improve the Service quality.
• Legal Obligation: To comply with legal requirements and data safety protocols.

4. Use of Data

Codala uses the collected data for various purposes:

• to provide and maintain the Service.
• to notify you about changes to our Service.
• to provide customer care and support.
• to provide analysis or valuable information so that we can improve the Service.
• to monitor the usage of the Service.
• to detect, prevent and address technical issues.

5. Transfer of Data & Cross-Border Transfer

Your information, including Personal Data, is maintained on computers located outside of your state or country (e.g., Firebase/Cloud infrastructure). By using the Service, you provide your explicit consent to the transfer of your personal data to servers located outside of Turkey. We take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

6. Your Rights Under KVKK (Article 11)

In accordance with the KVKK, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• To learn whether your personal data is processed.
• To request information if your personal data has been processed.
• To learn the purpose of the processing.
• To request rectification of incomplete or inaccurate data.
• To request the deletion or destruction of personal data (Right to be forgotten).
• To object to negative results arising from automated analysis.

7. Disclosure of Data

We may disclose your Personal Data to comply with a legal obligation, to protect the rights or property of Codala, or to protect the personal safety of users.

8. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16 without parental consent.

10. Deletion of Data

You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can perform this action directly within the "Settings" menu of the Codala app.

11. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements in our Service. While we do not personally process your data for advertising purposes, the Google AdMob SDK may collect and use certain information (such as your device's advertising ID and cookies) to facilitate ad delivery, provide reporting, and prevent fraud. This data is processed by Google according to their own policies.
